Frequently Asked Questions
With private cremation, your pet is cremated individually and the ashes are returned to you in a cedar urn, along with a clay paw print keepsake. With communal cremation, your pet is respectfully cremated alongside other animals and the ashes are scattered in our partner's memorial garden.
Private cremation requires more time, individual handling, and dedicated equipment use, which is why it costs more.
If you're unsure, we generally recommend private cremation — cremation can't be undone, and many of our families want the option to keep their pet's ashes or scatter them somewhere meaningful.
That said, both options are handled with the same care and respect. The right choice is the one that feels right for your family.
Cremains are typically ready within 7 to 10 business days, and often sooner. We'll let you know as soon as your pet's ashes are ready.
You can choose whichever return option is easiest for your family. The fastest is to pick them up from one of our crematory locations in Plainfield, Willowbrook, or East Dundee, since they're available the moment they're ready. We can also deliver them to your primary veterinarian's office, if your vet is able to receive them. Or we can ship them directly to your home for a $35 fee, though this is the slowest option.
We're honest about shipping: once a package leaves our hands and enters the mail, we can't guarantee it arrives perfectly, so for something this precious we usually recommend one of the in-person options. But the choice is always yours.
Yes. Larger breeds require more sedation and euthanasia medication to ensure a calm, pain-free passing, so pricing adjusts based on your pet's weight:
Pets under 75 lbs: Standard pricing applies, starting at $450.
Pets 75–125 lbs: In-Home Euthanasia starts at $550.
Pets over 125 lbs: In-Home Euthanasia starts at $650.
Cremation pricing is the same regardless of size. When you call or book, just let us know your pet's weight and we'll confirm the exact cost upfront.

The prices listed above are what you can expect for a standard appointment. They're all-inclusive, with cremation and travel already built into the totals shown.
